Understanding many of the things that are part of the modern Marketing mix can get overwhelming to a small business owner. We get asked lots of questions and one I’ve been hearing over and over is – what is the story with “analytics”. In plain language, analytics programs and utilities record and track the visitors and users and their movements while on your website
But as it so happens, the information used by nearly all small business website owners is limited to accessing the number of visitors and the pages that were visited. For the record, web analytics are not only meant for measuring these almost meaningless statistics – the tools are really for measuring the progress towards your objective (more sales, more leads, more calls and such ).
Remember – it’s important to measure and track the important aspects of your website’s performance, and not the minor items that don’t make a material difference.
